White is endowed with the ability to present a myriad of possibilities. For my first project as a freshman, I chose a concept that always stirs up discussion – White Pollution. The inspiration came from the fact that when I was living alone for the first time and had to isolate myself for two weeks, I was surprised to find that one person could also produce piles of plastic garbage, so I collected all the waste products mainly made of plastic that I had used, hoping to look at these wastes from a different perspective. First of all, I studied the surface. I chose three different forms of plastic: plastic bag, plastic paper with bubbles and inflatable plastic filler. I painted the surface with white pigment and printed it on the black cardboard to get some irregular patterns and explored the fabric through these patterns. Secondly, I explored the whole plastic. I chose plastic products with small volume (Yogurt bottles, takeout spoons, salad boxes, etc )and compressed them in various ways. During the changes of extrusion, I observed the possibility of various plastic shapes. At the same time, I used hot air gun plastic for shaping, and explored the change of plastic under the action of heat. These laid the foundation for the silhouette design of the garment. The last is the exploration and modification of the clothing details. Looking back over the course of the project, the weaknesses are obvious. Some of the work of fabric modification is superficial, and only the most common white cotton fabric is chosen, which lacks the exploration process. In the process of trying to make clothes by myself, I face many difficulties and lack of production experience. These are the things I hope to improve.
